Job Description: The Lead Generation Team is a new client-facing, business development team that will sit within the USCA ICB at BlackRock. Utilizing BlackRock’s latest technology suite, investment and marketing collateral, this team will be responsible for making prospect outreach on new business leads to cultivate new business opportunities and expand market share for BlackRock’s institutional business. This team will also be responsible for leading prospect campaigns and following-up on client engagement from BlackRock attended events (ie BlackRock Future Forum). As an Associate, your responsibilities will responsibilities will include managing your own client list, actioning data-driven leads for the institutional business, partnering with other BlackRock institutional client teams and commercializing client opportunities. Job Responsibilities: Partner with colleagues across the organization to close new business Maintain and develop knowledge of BlackRock products and key differentiating factors, marketing sales strategies, systems and applications to fully support/service the RMs with all inquiries Following-up with product strategists and sales personnel on problem resolution/updates Help prepare sales/marketing proposals for clients Contribute to a team-based and collaborative culture Identify and pursue new opportunities for a subset of clients by client profiling, lead identification, and follow-up activity Follow-up on key campaigns for targeted clients to drive sales during/after campaigns Manage all inbound prospecting inquiries; coordinating with the respective USCA ICB and product strategy teams Job Requirements: Professional level of written and verbal communication skills to prepare and present sales plans and materials, provide technical information regarding products and services, and develop sales presentations Analytical skills to analyze and interpret complex investment product information and determine appropriate response to meet the needs of the Relationship Managers. Capable of applying information about the economy, competitor products and services and other financial information to influence the sales of BlackRock Funds Strong familiarity with computer applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, etc.) and experience with web-based technology Series 7, 63 and 3 required or must be obtained within licensing time frame after hire Minimum of 3 years related experience within the Financial Services Industry and preferably in sales, desk-based selling and/or internal sales BA/BS degree required, emphasis on Finance, Economics, or Engineering preferred High sales acumen and the desire/ability to generate sales opportunities. Must be confident, persuasive and credible over the phone and in person Ability to understand investment products and services, as well as general investment and securities concepts Strong interpersonal skills to communicate complex information to a wide variety of personnel in a clear, concise and well-organized manner, even under tight time constraints in a fast paced and dynamic culture.
