Job Description: We're seeking motivated candidates for Development/Verification Engineer position(s) in GM's Electrification Development, Calibration, and Verification group at the Milford Proving Ground. The selected candidate (s) will work on GM's hybrid/EV programs and will be responsible for vehicle level verification and integration of hybrid controls systems and feature functionality, conducting in-vehicle testing, vehicle level troubleshooting, and develop test plans. The Development/Verification Engineer will work cohesively with a group of engineers responsible for the integration of electrification systems and controls. The position involves significant on-vehicle work involving test tracks, high feature test facilities, and environmental test chambers. Development/Verification engineers work in a cross-functional team, are expected to handle multiple projects/priorities, and frequently balance planned and unplanned work. A typical week includes test plan development, in-vehicle testing, results analysis and collaboration with calibration, algorithm/software, and controls engineers. Job Responsibilities Execute test plans for verification of hybrid vehicle RESS and Propulsion control systems Ensure GMW verification testing delivered by VTC milestone per program Coordinate test plans, equipment and facilities with other verification engineers/Teams Creation and update GMW and related CG test procedures Provide testing status to Lead Verification Engineer Ensure electrification system features/functions meet customer expectations Support program needs for IVER vehicle through CTF fleet by flashing ECUs and troubleshooting vehicle issues as needed. Conduct peer reviews for test plans Define root cause of issues found during development and verification testing Participate in program VPIT, VCIT, and Dev/Val meetings Perform verification testing per program requirements Utilize Problem Resolution Tracking System (PRTS) Participate in verification and development trips as required (minimal) Create test reports per program requirements Support development and verification testing of new vehicle features/functions Follow the Verification Team Process of Engineering PoE to ensure testing is performed per program requirements Job Requirements Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering This position requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle and pass driver level requirements Vehicle or bench level experience with INCA/Vehicle Spy/CANalyzer CAN tools. Technical writing ability to create written engineering evaluation reports. High level of analytical ability. Interpersonal styles and communication skills to work effectively with team members. Time management skills to meet deliverables and manage multiple projects Qualification & Experience: 2 year of overall engineering experience. 1 years of experience with electrification, calibration and controls experience. Knowledge/experience of vehicle development and test procedures. Demonstrated Vehicle Level CAN Tool Experience (Eco Car, Formula SAE, etc) Vehicle Spy scripting experience MatLab experience.
