Job Description: The facilities base building technician will lead and support building inspection and maintenance processes/repairs to mechanical, electrical, plumbing equipment and systems in the facilities. This role will perform inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including walls and flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, lighting, etc. Job Responsibilities: Orders parts and equipment required for repair, maintenance and installation of new equipment and facilities, and maintains inventory Perform maintenance, monitoring repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems for the facility to keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned Safety operates equipment: forklifts, scissor and boom lifts, hand tools Manage installations of new and/or replacement equipment as required Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures Complies with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials Respond effectively to emergencies and support after-hours building related activity as requested Creates and closes out work orders with data including labor hours, equipment maintenance and parts used Performs and/or delegates preventative maintenance tasks to the appropriately qualified maintenance staff member. Partners with and accompanies outside vendors performing work in assigned building. Recommends and estimates facilities repairs and improvements for inclusion in the annual budget Ensures that work performed is accomplished efficiently with a minimum amount of disruption of building services Job Requirements: Candidate must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and internet usage and navigation Strong knowledge of building automation systems is preferred Knowledge of power tools, pneumatic, or hydraulic tools. EPA 608 Universal Technician Certification Completion of an applicable technical training program is strongly preferred. Special knowledge and skills – Experience with HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, welding, and electrical systems engineering and operation Ability to troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Basic knowledge of controls systems & PLC’s.
