Job Description: The role of an Associate Scientist within Evaluation Intelligence – Sensory/Expert Science involves building deep technical product knowledge using evaluation methods. This role will use analytical/strategic thinking and collaboration skills to design, execute and deliver testing and results for the different L’Oreal US brands. We are looking for a licensed esthetician to apply products on consumers at our testing facility and provide both objective/numerical and subjective feedback. This role will report into our Clark , New Jersey facility. Job Responsibilities: Utilizes L’Oreal evaluation software with guidance, setting up, executing and completing studies as needed Analyzes test results, synthesizes the information and writes reports to meet business objectives Supports new, forward thinking evaluation techniques and methodologies for the future of Expert and Sensory evaluation Builds relationships with formulators Trains Specialists and new Associate Scientists as they validate and calibrate in sensory/expert evaluation methods, protocols and rating scales May oversee contractors Responsible for high quality, accurate assessment of formula performance according to sensory/expert methods and protocols in the following categories: skin care products (creams, serums, etc.), makeup removers & cleansing/beauty devices Executes sensory/expert studies, including ensuring clear objectives and instructions, experimental design, recruitment criteria, questionnaire relevancy, quality assurance, formula proposal, analysis Communicates findings to project leaders, as needed Develops strong relationships within cross functional teams; including hybrid testing, partnering with consumer and/or instrumental teams. Job Requirements: Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint Knowledge of questionnaire design programs a plus Ability to multi-task, and flexibility a must Self-motivated Interest in personal care industry and associated skincare/makeup/haircare services Experience in technical product testing or cosmetics industry a plus Flexibility to work on multiple projects with a deadline-driven deliverable Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent, ongoing basis, without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
