Job Description:

The Postgres Database Team is responsible for design, configuration and maintenance of fleet of Postgres databases under Data Services. We are engaged in interacting with application team to understand their requirements and suggesting optimal database solution to them. The Postgres databases are deployed across baremetal, AWS and Kubernetes.

Job Responsibilities:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate is nice to have
• Data Services: Provide database architecture and design solutions.
• Build the automation scripts for database infrastructure
• Measurement and optimization of system performance Capacity planning and forecast management
• Be able to do performance benchmarking between either two versions of same database technology or two different database technologies
• Participate in new technology/feature evaluation, design, and development of highly scalable distributed databases
• Manage the databases deployed in Cloud Infrastructure including AWS and Kubernetes
• Position may require 12×7 on-call support rotation with other team members.
• Database Infrastructure Setup, Configuration, upgrading/Patching, Monitoring and troubleshooting
• Implementing standard methodologies for DR and Backups
• You will be responsible for administration of production, QA and development database infrastructure

Job Requirements:

• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across multiple business and technical teams
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, tight deadline delivery timeline
• Hands-on experience in configuring and supporting replication
• Must have experience in AWS (RDS/EC2)
• 6+ years supporting Postgres databases in a high volume customer facing environment
• Extraordinary experience administering multi-terabyte databases
• Strong experience in optimizing and performance tuning of Postgres including drill-down analysis
• Aptitude to independently learn new technologies
• Proficiency with SQL, Shell/Python/Perl/GO
• Background in building large infrastructure supporting a high volume of transactions in a mission-critical environment
