Best Buy Careers – Market Technician

Job Description:

The Best Buy Market Technician is responsible for ensuring that all stores in their market are clean, maintained, and meet our Best Buy brand standards. They perform a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and general mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.

Job Responsibilities:

• Drives a positive customer experience by building relationships and providing solutions to their needs.
• Performs light electrical replacement work such as changing ballasts and resetting circuit breakers.
• Manages parts and tool inventory.
• Completes all work orders and submits them to the corporate office.
• Tracks work orders and other key documentation.
• Performs janitorial work including spot cleaning, window washing, restroom maintenance, trash handling, and other housekeeping duties.
• Documents defects found while performing inspections or checks.
• Drives a lift to perform cleaning, dusting, and light bulb changing.
• Works with glues, carpet seem sealers, and stain removers.
• Complete regular maintenance tasks, such as minor plumbing repairs, drain cleanings, minor HVAC repairs, emergency response, cleanup work, painting, and wall patching.
• Performs roof inspections.
• Performs light carpentry including signage installation and display repairs.

Job Requirements:

• 3 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or in a similar role
• Acquire gain and maintain any state or local licensing, as required, within 90 days of hire
• Able to push up to 100 pounds and carry up to 75 pounds
• 2 years of experience using communication and problem-solving skills
• 2 years of experience with basic electrical, plumbing, painting, and preventative maintenance management
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Current, valid driver’s license
• Have and maintain a driving record which meets Best Buy safety standards (e.g. minimal number of violations/accidents, etc.)
