Job Description:

Under limited supervision, plans, coordinates and manages the daily operations of the landscaping department. Assists other managers and Park departments with capital projects. Schedules and reviews the work of subordinate supervisory and skilled staff. Schedules and supervises the work of outside contractors and vendors. Performs related work as required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Acts as mentor and trainer for new and junior sales executives and sales support staff.
  • Assists with the creation of annual sales plans, editing and contributing strategies and tactics for all sales territories.
  • Facilitates select sales meetings at Sales Director’s discretion including, but not limited to, weekly staff meetings, brainstorms, and post mortem reviews.
  • Assists Sales Director with process improvement recommendations as necessary.
  • Collaborates with fellow Sales Reps on annual deliverables, including territory plans.
  • Adheres to all park policies and procedures, including attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
  • Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
  • Develops, manages, and sells to new and existing accounts within assigned geographic territory or business segment through in‑person sales and service calls.
  • Manages territory/segment by spending a minimum of 50% of time soliciting sales at customers’ or potential customers’ places of business.
  • Performs other work that furthers individual outside sales efforts including, for example, follow‑up communication via telephone and written materials, planning and preparing for outside sales calls, preparing and analyzing sales reports, preparing proposals and other individual marketing and sales materials, providing tours of event and park facilities, and ensuring full account support to all clients with regard to marketing and on site coordination of events and activities, etc.
  • Recommends new or different programs to meet the needs of each client including new catering options, ticket programs, or other revenue streams to meet the wishes of the client.

Job Requirements:

  • Inspects work in progress to ensure compliance with established plans, specifications, contracts, schedules, and standards of quality and safety.
  • Uses computer and clerical supplies, landscaping tools and materials, animal snares and traps, carpentry tools, various other hand and power tools, etc.
  • Operates a vehicle, boom truck, bull dozer, loader, tractor, mower, water truck, dump truck, bob cat, back hoe, forklift, snorkel, lift, snow plow, and a variety of equipment such as a computer, copier, calculator, telephone, two-way radio, etc.
  • Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other Park administrators and staff, subordinates, guests, vendors, contractors, and horticulture/landscaping professionals.
  • Purchases and receives necessary supplies and materials.
  • Receives and reviews various records and reports including blueprints, invoices, status reports, maintenance reports, budgets, contracts, inspection reports, meeting minutes, work orders, etc.
  • Prepares and/or processes schedules, attendance sheets, budget documents, purchase orders, performance appraisals, work orders, etc.
  • Attends workshops, conferences, trade shows, meetings, etc., to stay abreast of industry trends, products and resources.
  • Refers to policy and procedure manuals, maitnenance manuals, technical manuals and diagrams, blueprints, trade magazines, specifications.
  • Prepares and manages department budgets; ensures the cost-efficiency of operations and purchases.
  • Participates in short and long-range planning for Park facilities; prepares and implements annual department goals and objectives.
