Job Description:

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Measurement Technician located in Greeley, CO and Pecos, TX through November 14 at 11:59 p.m . (Eastern Standard Time).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, operate, troubleshoot, and repair measurement equipment, including meters, samplers, flow computers, and other peripheral measurement-related devices
  • Basic knowledge to locate fuses/breakers to remove power for wiring equipment
  • Working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in PC skills for various computer programs needed for different flow computers, EFMs, Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.
  • Daily driving of approximately 90 miles or more as required completing assigned jobs and/or repairs.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
  • Witness meter performance verifications as performed by third party contractors, as needed
  • Maintain and operate Basic Sediment & Water meters to manufacturers recommendation and operating procedures
  • On-Call rotational schedule to include hours extending into the weekend and/or holidays
  • Collect product quality samples for crude or NGL liquids, in compliance with safety standards and industry standards
  • Maintain and operate facilities in compliance with applicable specifications, codes, safety standards, and operating procedures
  • Maintain and operate custody transfer measurement LACTs in compliance with applicable specifications, codes, safety standards, and operating procedures
  • Maintain and operate sample pots to include diagnostics and centrifuge grindout in accordance with industry standards
  • Perform periodic accuracy tests including calibration, inspection, and maintenance of all equipment related to quality and quantity determination
  • Install/remove instrumentation and equipment in new and renovated LACTs

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of various volumetric/mass flow meters including Positive Displacement, Magnetic, and Coriolis to include Troubleshooting techniques, Meter replacement, Parts replacement, Wiring, Software upgrade
  • Minimum of 2 year of experience in oil & gas measurement operations or related
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices.
  • Knowledge of various electronic flow measurement devices including ABB Flow X and Emerson ROC800 to include Troubleshooting techniques, Replacement, Minimal programming and diagnostic abilities, Communication diagnostics
  • The working environment includes exposure to extremely loud noises in the field, hazardous chemicals, and hydrocarbons that may be under extreme pressure for which appropriate safety measures are required. Also includes working with moving machinery/equipment parts for which extreme caution must be taken.
  • Valid driver’s license with a history of safe driving practices.
  • Exposure to and driving in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, extreme cold, sun, rain, hail, sleet, high winds, etc. to run well routes and inspect and repair equipment.
  • Knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT, OSHA, AGA, and API requirements and procedures
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
