Job Description:

As a part of Chevron Midstream, Supply and Trading (S&T) operates Chevron’s global supply and trading business. S&T is the commercial link to the market for Upstream and Downstream & Chemicals (DS&C). Gas Supply & Trading (GSAT) applies its knowledge of commodity markets and transportation logistics in the natural gas markets to maximize the value of enterprise assets and enable the commercial success of Upstream and DS&C. GSAT Natural Gas sells natural gas to support Chevron’s North America Upstream (CNAEP) operations and purchases and supplies natural gas to support DS&C’s refineries, CNAEP operations and Chevron’s Power business. GSAT leverages their market knowledge and trading capabilities to capture commercial opportunities across the entire value chain through commercial functional excellence.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for updating internal systems on a timely basis as well as providing timely and accurate volumes to the Financial Services Center
    Keep informed of and optimize operational costs
  • Work closely with traders to manage physical inventory positions and recommend trade activity based on interactions with third parties
  • Engage with internal and external industry experts and maintain strong relationships and lines of communication
  • Analyze data and produce ad-hoc reports for the trading team as necessary
  • Primarily responsible for nominations and confirmations on assigned pipelines as well as backup responsibilities for others
  • Major duties include but are not limited to the optimization of transportation contracts, storage transactions, and the sourcing of sales transactions
  • Provide day-to-day scheduling and operations for trading teams; including activities such as quality control, loss prevention, and intraday volume balancing
  • Monitor pipeline operations to optimize schedules
  • Support optimization initiatives and best practices, including advancing digital initiatives and process improvements
  • Manage nominations for pipeline; monitor and execute commodity movement
  • Champion incident-free operations and continuous improvement

Job Requirements:

  • Team player and ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • 7+ years of natural gas scheduling experience; particularly in the Permian Basin
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Belief in getting results the right way
  • Digital mindset and innovative thinker
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Preferred experience with Endur and/or other relative trade capture systems
