Job Description:
Operational Risk Management (ORM) is an organization within Citi’s Independent Risk Management organization. ORM’s mission is to drive comprehensive and consistent practices designed to identify, measure, monitor, report and manage operational risks while promoting the implementation of actions to address root causes which may lead to unintended operational risk losses. ORM drives Citi’s understanding, anticipation and management of operational risk, so we can stay ahead of barriers to progress and keep Citi moving forward safely.
The position is in the Operational Risk Management Scenario Analysis Central team within ORM’s Measurement Framework and Tools group. Scenario analysis is a program that brings together subject matter experts to consider the operational risk loss events that could potentially happen, and estimate their potential size and likelihood, for the purpose of risk management and risk quantification. The global scenario analysis program drives Citi’s Businesses to identify and quantify their material, plausible, high severity, low probability forward looking operational risks. Scenario Analysis plays a key role in important Citi-wide initiatives such as CCAR, Risk Appetite and Risk Capital.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in scenario analysis working group meetings.
- Review and report on the status of the program to senior management
- Propose and help implement improvements to the program that help Citi better and more efficiently capture and understand these forward-looking risks
- Proactively organize and engage globally with Operational Risk Management staff and In-Business Risk Managers to ensure that the requirements of the program are fulfilled
- Monitor the performance of the program and resolve or escalate issues, ensuring that any exceptions are identified as needed
Job Requirements:
- Financial services experience, including knowledge of financial services products
- Must be able to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, across large organizations
- Excellent general computer skills including MS Office
- Bachelor’s degree required with quantitative coursework such as economics, mathematics, statistics, or sciences/engineering
- 3+ years of work experience involving team work and cross-functional influence
- Project management experience, including strong organizational and planning skills
