Job Description:

  • Strategic Design Group unlocks insights, inspires the organization, and builds new and meaningful brand experiences. SDG plays a critical role in discovering new consumer and business opportunities and innovating products in R&D. As the design strategist/industrial designer, you will have the opportunity to play across all the Clorox brand portfolio and make design led impact.
  • You will work closely with stakeholders from R&D and cross disciplinary colleague — Research, Brand Management and Marketing — to defining the opportunity and leveraging the design experience and craft to contextualize vision of business and design opportunity to steward the strategic initiatives. You will have strong ability to inspire, lead & manage extended design team, champion design and collaborate with cross-disciplinary colleagues to drive quality design experiences & solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Translate insight and strategy into tangible design proposals (visions, scenarios, concepts) to inspire and advance the innovation effort.
  • Responsible for the design led impact on business growth across the Clorox brand portfolio —design strategy, quality of design, management and execution of product experience.
  • Work with our various Businesses and Brands to identify new opportunities for growth
  • Foster strategic POV of market shifts, competitive qualities, consumer lifestyle and brand behavior to stay ahead of evolving consumer mindset considering overall brand and business impact.
  • Lead workshops, drive and refine the work effectively to influence and ensure advocacy of key stakeholders.
  • Mentor and lead internal and external design resources to deliver quality and value throughout the creative process.
  • Synthesize insights, develop, and implementing consistent design shared vision — principles, imperatives, and consumer target/personas — to guide and innovate beyond current consumer expectation.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Diverse experience at prime design consulting firms working with clients in different industries, including major CPGs.
  • Experience with a full suite of research, ideation, visualization and physical prototyping methods and tools
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite; Illustrator, Photoshop, In-design, 3D modeling software
  • Excellent end to end ID and deep knowledge of manufacturing
  • Prefer degree in Industrial Design with product centric focus and Design Strategy focus
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Experience doing business development in consulting environment
  • Mindset: highly collaborative, flexible and persistent— build alignment, gain advocacy, drive design execution, and deliver project objectives.
  • Thrive as a member of a lean (stealth) team and apply design thinking and craft
  • Strong hands-on design approach with superior design sensibility and design management skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, ability to translate consumer insights into concepts, effectively envision and convey.
  • Effective communication and presentation skill (visual/verbal) to engage and influence senior leadership, internal stakeholders and customers (e.g. Target, Costco) at all levels
  • 10 years of deep strategic design industry experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, College Diploma, or Equivalent (Required)
