Job Description:

Cox Communications is searching for a Data Analyst, Engineering Data & Analytics to lead the effort to research and recommend data sources of truth for the Engineering Data & Analytics team, ensuring accuracy, consistency and transparency in data leveraged for reporting and analytics. The Data Analyst will identify and document data sources of truth from Engineering applications and tools, deliver comprehensive data dictionaries, champion best practices for data governance, and work closely with the teams Data Architect to document data flows and models for improved transparency. This role will contribute to specific department efforts while collaborating with all other efforts to build a uniform approach to implementing BI solutions, enhance data quality, master data and master list management while meeting business needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a backlog of stakeholder requirements for data sets and views in collaboration with the Data Architect and Senior Analyst
  • Contributes to the development of the data, analytics and reporting roadmap and provides support to ensure roadmap goals are met
  • Collaborates with boundary partners and stakeholders as necessary and ensures transparency and stakeholder buy in for all deliverables
  • Develops and maintains robust data dictionaries and champions data governance efforts
  • Works closely with boundary partners to proactively identify possible risks to data quality or changes to critical data flows
  • Supports analytic efforts through data analysis and dashboard development
  • Leads the effort to identify, research and recommend data sources of truth to be leveraged by the Engineering Data and Analytics team
  • Documents and visualizes data models, data flows and ETL processes in collaboration with the Data Architect

Job Requirements:

  • 3 or more years of experience in a management role or leading cross functional projects
    AWS Cloud experience
  • BS/BA in quantitative field strongly desired (statistics, QM, Computer Science, Economics, Analytics, etc.)
  • Ability to understand and translate advanced analytics for business partners. Ability to communicate with the business leaders in Supply Chain.
  • 7 or more years of experience required developing and implementing analytical solutions across different functional areas
  • 5 or more years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree
  • Experience leading large teams of 5+ in your organization
  • Experience applying analytical tools, techniques, and processes to solve business issues
  • Certification in CAP (Certified Analytics Professional)
  • Advanced degree in Business, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or other analysis related fields preferred
  • Requires extensive teamwork, communication, presentation, and time management skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization
