Job Description:

We have built something new in Victor, NY. A destination devoted to sports. HOUSE OF SPORT is where the community will gather and be inspired. To create this new experience, we’re building a leadership team that will dream big, obsess over the athlete (our customer), inspire teammates and challenge every ‘normal’ thing about retail.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Community Marketing Manager to identify and execute local Sports Matter grant recipients.
  • Along with the Community Integration Team, proactively plan, prepare and provide comprehensive support and communication that detail all specifics related to in-store events and programs as directed.
  • Leverage Outreach assets to promote the DICK’S Sporting Goods brand through league partnerships such as: logo on uniforms, signage, team websites and other related platforms.
  • Communicating of all asset distribution and contract management working in conjunction with local CMM program.
  • Evaluate and execute Dick’s Sporting Goods donations requests working in conjunction with Sponsorship program and the regional Community Marketing Manager.
  • Identify and execute off site marketing opportunities with tournaments, semi-pro teams, schools and any sports related community events.
  • Develop and execute organic outreach strategy, including email outreach and targeted community canvassing.
  • Seek, develop and build relationships with community teams, leagues, schools, businesses and organizations encouraging them to choose DICK’S as their sporting goods retailer of choice.
  • Evaluate qualitatively and quantitatively each event/program and proactively suggest enhanced measures of success.
  • Manage all athlete feedback on through our event registration platform.
  • Leverage Outreach assets to communicate in store events, drive participation and traffic.
  • Increase revenue, traffic counts, customer conversion through strategic programming, which includes: in-store events utilizing batting cages, golf bays, outdoor field and rock wall, couponing/shop nights and promoting the additional services within House of Sport: glove steaming, racket stringing, skate sharpening, etc.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent communication, project management, operations and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Communications, Marketing or related area
  • A plus: strong current relationships in the Victor/Rochester region
  • A passion for relentless improvement, embracing and driving positive change
  • Tremendous passion and experience in event and community management
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed (including nights, weekends and travel throughout the territory)
  • Strong relationship building experience
  • 3+ years of related experience as a regional or company merchandise or marketing professional in a retail or multi-unit environment
  • Project management experience and business acumen to calculate event return on investment
