Perhaps you’ve heard of us? We’ve been making customers laugh for decades. Our designers’ work is featured in everything from major national magazines to massive banners at sports and music venues. Sadly, the Gecko won’t be available for the interview, but we’ll do our best to report back to him.
You may ask yourself, “what’s an Interactive Designer?” At GEICO, Interactive Designers create user experiences focused on engagement and communication. Successful candidates often have experience working on sales/marketing teams, and they should be as comfortable in Dreamweaver or Notepad++ as they are in Adobe InDesign and InVision Studio.
Job Responsibilities:
- Write or modify HTML code as needed for emails, landing pages, and HTML banner ads
- Prepare electronic files for digital and print applications, ensuring completeness and compatibility
- Provide quality control to ensure accuracy of digital and print products
- Modify and manipulate photography as required to successfully complete projects
- Design and produces motion graphics for inclusion in video advertising
- Under general supervision, follow brand standards to create and modify designs (especially for email and web) for GEICO marketing campaigns
- Collaborate with staff copywriters and contribute to creative direction
- Work alongside multiple interdisciplinary teams; build relationships with seasoned in-house marketing teams
- Work independently or collaboratively with creative team, as projects require; plan and design for email, print, and digital ads, as well as landing pages, outdoor advertising, and other materials as needed
Job Requirements:
- In your portfolio – an understanding and application of user-focused design, typography, and type-image relationship, as executed in a variety of projects
- Bachelor’s degree (complete, or actively pursuing)
- Able to make our customers feel listened to and help with their needs
- Basic understanding of motion graphics creation in Adobe After Effects (optional)
- On your resume – proven experience in design, as well as working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and usability guidelines, and (optionally) JavaScript and responsive design.
