Job Responsibilities:

  • Applying experience with low and ultra-low temperature devices to design and develop new systems and to perform low temperature laboratory experiments
  • Developing and applying advanced methodologies and technologies to create technical solutions that improve processes and procedures
  • Performing trade studies, writing research reports, writing project proposals, creating project cost estimates, and assisting with budgeting
  • Partnering with internal customers and team members to facilitate the completion of projects to customer specifications and use theoretical knowledge to complete scientific tasks and provide analytical predictions
  • Implementing sample environments in support of laboratory experimentation
  • Supporting the design and development of integrated solutions with cryogenics being a key component

Job Requirements:

  • Wet and/or dry cryogenic systems
  • Understanding of experimental design to gather the desired data
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with research, analysis, and experimentation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics or related field
  • High vacuum equipment
  • Master’s degree in Physics or related field
  • Demonstrated innovation in the design, construction, and operation of equipment for sample environments, including experience with one or more of the following:
  • Critical thinking in planning and executing experiments
  • Mechanical motion and vibrational stability
  • U.S. Citizenship to obtain and maintain government security clearance
  • Ability to identify a technical development need and the resourcefulness to address the need through a combination of research, analysis, and experimentation
