Job Description:
There is an immediate career opportunity available for a Senior Technical Sales Engineer in the Petrochemical Technology Sales Group, within the UOP Process Technologies (UPT) organization located in Des Plaines, IL. This is a position, primarily aligned with the Olefins & Detergents technology portfolio, which provides technical sales support to UPT Sales Managers and UOP customers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Taking the lead role at customer meetings for bid clarifications, technology updates, technical proposal review and general positioning of respective technologies.
- Leading Sales Strategy sessions to set and implement the sales strategy for projects.
- Working with Sales, Engineering and Business to develop technical proposals, presentations, engineering and guarantee agreements, guarantee and pricing strategies.
- Attaining a high level of Yield Estimating capability in the pertinent technology(ies).
- Drive a right-sized approach to help Sales respond to client requests with less work-intensive products (lower cost of sales investment) sufficient to help the customer progress to the next stage of their project development.
- Develop innovative techno-economic solutions to customer needs for both revamp and new unit sales opportunities.
- Identify flow schemes which provide the most economically attractive solution for a given Sales opportunity.

- 3+ years’ experience in the field of Refining and/or Petrochemicals

- Strong presentation skills
