Job Description:
Our technology teams work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.
Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2025 and beyond, we are currently seeking a network specialist to join HSBC Technology.
Telecommunication Network Functions Platform provides the network overlay services that run across the Core Networking infrastructure. Engineering services and managing Service delivery across infrastructure with in the bank. That includes DDoS, Load Balancing, Internet access, Web Hosting, Third Party Connectivity, Remote access, VPN and Cloud Connectivity.
The team is adopting agile working, using the Scrum methodology with regular stand-ups and task management. Individuals are expected to be self-sufficient and would be empowered to do so but also work as part of a team
Job Requirements:
- Ability to work through strict processes and compliance, driving solutions forward removing any blockers and gaining help from others to do so.
- Ability to interpret user requirements to meet technical development needs and also interpreting technical development needs/questions into user friendly communication.
- Good understanding of networking and networking concepts.
- Ability to prioritize efficiently and ability to adapt in a dynamic working environment, considering changing needs and expectations.
- Proactive, self-driven and highly enthusiastic.
- Working experience of Agile methodologies including Scrum.
- Ability to clearly communicate ideas both in writing and verbally.
- Good understanding of DNS, routing and switching
- Ability to establish collaborative and inclusive environment to achieve as a team.
- Previous experience of automation with F5 products.
- Previous experience using Git Hub or equivalent as well as CI/CD pipeline creation.
- Deep knowledge of F5 products, specifically LTM, ASM and APM modules.
- Creation of technical and functional documentation/JIRA tasks etc.
