Upon resumption of normal operations, this role may be performed at our Wilmington, Delaware office.
This Insurance Officer supports sales initiatives and revenue strategies of our in house personal lines (homeowners, auto, valuable articles, excess…) specialty lines and life insurance agency serving HNW and UHNW client groups. Manages and maintains customer files within the agency management system (Vertafore AMS360). Primary servicing liaison providing expertise, advice, and quality service to these VIP banking clients. Accountable for customer retention through renewal efforts which generates the majority percentage of annual revenue for the group. Adept at cross-selling and can identify and evaluate client needs and assist clients in making informed decisions regarding insurance coverage.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and acts upon cross-sell opportunities, generating revenue for the group
  • Has the expertise to review and understand contracts and check validity
  • Quote, Issue polices, renewals, cross sell, handle any client need request
  • Fields all client inquiries providing expert resolution
  • Reviews accuracy of policies, reports errors to carriers with independent follow-through
  • Processes Customer requests for policy changes and ensures prompt delivery
  • Inputs/updates customer information, life event information, policies and invoices in agency system
  • Maintains customer files – making sure all audit and compliance requirements are fully satisfied
  • Apply compliance; maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators; adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report issues and operational loss events. Abide by human resources and other HSBC policies in support of our ethical and respectful work environment.
  • Services existing book of business with focus on customer retention/revenue generation
  • Works independently and builds strong client relationships
  • Notifies carriers of claims and ensures proper handling by entering follow-data in the agency system
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated written and verbal skills
  • Must show expertise in Personal and Specialty Lines
  • Property and Casualty license required; Life/Health license preferred
  • Product knowledge of homeowners, automobile, valuable articles, umbrella/excess, watercraft, special risk, flood, earthquake required.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft applications, such as Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • College degree and /or equivalent work experience
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Property and Casualty license required; Life/Health license preferred
  • Strong experience in property and casualty insurance
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
