Imperial Irrigation District Jobs – Line Clearance Trimmer

Job Description:

Under direct supervision, performs vegetation management line clearance services; ensures safe, efficient, cost-effective vegetation management operations as assigned; and communicates District’s vegetation management standards and policies to public and customers as necessary;  may perform work in close proximity to energized power lines from low to high voltage lines. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• High school equivalency with supplemental college or technical courses in forestry, botany, environmental science or other related field and two years’ of validated work experience as a qualified line clearance tree trimmer working near electrical lines, trimmer/pruning procedures, proper job site set up and equipment used in tree care, aerial lift operations, split dump, chippers, chainsaws, hand tools, ropes, knots, climbing systems, tree identification and growth rates.
• Must be Line Clearance Trimmer Qualified.
• Pesticide certification II, CPR and first-aid training desired.
• A valid Class “B” driver’s license and ability to obtain a Class “A” driver’s license with applicable endorsement(s) issued by State of California Department of Motor Vehicles during the initial seven months from date of hire is required.
