Job Description:

We have an excellent opportunity for a full time Incentive and Travel Manager on the Travel & Events team, located in Irvine, CA* . The Incentive and Travel Manager is responsible for large-scale incentive/reward trips, as well as manage a team of Incentive Event Planners and Travel Agents. This person reports directly to the Department Head of Travel and Events, and contributes heavily to strategic decisions that impact the T&E department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and monitor travel budgets to ensure expenses are kept within established boundaries. Review financial information for accuracy, and assist in the preparation of financial reports for the team and department
  • Directly accountable to top management for the functioning of their respective teams
  • Manages the event planning team that plans large-scale Incentive events
  • Supply travelers with pertinent information and useful travel/holiday material, such as guides, maps, event programs, etc.
  • Manage the Travel Agent team, which books airlines, hotels and car rentals; this team handles all employee travel reservations
  • Leadership and Supervisory skills – Will manage a team of four (4) or more direct reports, including Event Planners and Travel Agents
  • Attend incentive trips and provide onsite support and feedback to the team
  • Research national and international destinations and means of travel, to include site selection, prices, passport and international travel requirements, tourism and customs
  • Plan “once in a lifetime” trips
  • Main point person for Incentive Events with other internal INO departments and external vendors in the planning and implementation of the events we produce
  • Will devote a lot of time to organizational and directional functions for the Travel & Events incentive teams
  • Plan incentive and award travel trips on both a national and international level for managerial and senior level employees of In-N-Out Burger

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to work a variety of hours in order to accommodate events
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Must be able to travel internationally, for up to 2 weeks at a time
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time during events

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or hotel management, marketing, business, public relations, or relevant field
  • A minimum of eight (8)+ years hands-on experience in all facets of event planning, specifically incentive and reward events
  • Team Management/Supervisor/Leadership experience – will manage a team of 4+ direct reports; will be responsible for assigning work, managing employee performance, providing leadership support and development (required)
  • A minimum of five (5)+ years experience managing, leading, and supervising a team
  • Extensive experience planning national and international trips for large groups of employees, ranging from 50-2,000 employees
  • International trip planning experience is a requirement
  • Experience with In-house corporate event planning experience preferred
  • Professional certifications a plus, such as Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) or Certified Meeting Professional (CMP)
  • Proven history of providing outstanding customer service while proactively troubleshooting/problem solving Excellent
