Job Description:

The CSS Modernization Business Analyst provides direct support to CSS product development initiatives by supporting the Project Manager(s) in the analysis of data, through the development of business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications so that developers can produce business tools and automated services; specifically within the Sabre Intelligence Exchange (IX) platform. The Business Analyst may occasionally serve as the project lead on smaller, well-defined projects or provide support to IT Managers in project initiation activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
  • Assist in the development of business cases, considering financial, resource, and technological constraints; develops cost estimates with consideration to business impacts and risks
  • Provide support for lower tiered systems and applications supporting the operation
  • Produce clear, detailed scope and design documentation that can be used by technical specialists to build, develop and test appropriate business solutions within (but not limited to) the IX platform
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, subject matter experts, and other IT team members to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
  • Elicit and develop clear, traceable user requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, client visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and/or workflow analysis
  • Actively supports the IX development lifecycle from start to finish in accordance with JetBlue IT policies and processes
  • Produce runbook/production support documentation at the completion of a use case build
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ensure that approved requirements are developed in sufficient scope and detail to result in the delivery of a solution that meets customer needs as they perceive them.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts: Functional Requirements; Technical Requirements, include architecture, interfaces, security and business continuity;
  • Compose functional specification documentation that is geared towards a developer audience and translates business requirements into specific instruction developers can follow to build the use case in IX. BA can expect input from development and architecture teams to assist with composition.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to review, consolidate, communicate and reverse-engineer complex technical and systems documentation
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Office365, MS Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word and Visio
  • Ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Two (2) years’ experience writing business requirement documents and functional requirement documents supporting technical development efforts
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/General
  • Education Development (GED) Diploma and four (4) years’ of work experience supporting projects with business user and IT components
  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
