KPMG is currently seeking a Sr Engineer – Disaster Recovery to join our Digital Nexus organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with technology teams to develop architecture approved DRP/BCP improvements that meet application owner’s requirements
  • Manage failover or recovery efforts in the event of an actual incident or disaster activation; Consult system owners for design, plan and creation of Disaster Recovery sites; Establish the processes, procedures and/or technologies that assure DR environments remain in sync with production environments
  • Create and present business cases for DRP/BCP improvement initiatives; Develop and execute a roadmap of DRP/BCP improvements
  • Collaborate with system owners to understand the evolving architectures and develop DR/BC solutions accordingly
  • Lead periodic resiliency and recovery testing, document results of tests and stakeholder with key business stakeholders on gap remediation
  • Review existing DR plans to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement through the application of resilient solutions; Act as subject matter expert in creating solutions that add resiliency to areas identified through risk analysis

Job Requirements:

  • Experience designing and implementing application resiliency and recovery strategies and technologies; Experience applying automation for recovery and/or resiliency; Expert knowledge and experience with Azure Cloud and DR compliance for SaaS vendors
  • Strong experience in site recovery engineering concepts pertaining to networking, storage, compute, database, middleware, cloud and resilient application (local and geographic redundancy)
  • Strong verbal/written communication, effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority; must be able to prioritize, delegate and foster the development of high-performance teams to lead/support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork;
  • Strong leadership, project management, presentation and collaboration skills; Ability to prioritize and to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with Service Now’s BCM module is a plus
  • Minimum five years of recent experience designing and supporting highly available resilient / active-active failover ready applications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; or equivalent work experience
