Job Description:

The Investor Relations Manager will play the role of initial contact for all individual investors and brokers, and the role of second Investor Relations contact for portfolio managers, analysts and other members of the financial community. He or she will also play a key role in the day-to-day communications to shareholders, financial modeling and is integrally involved in drafting various communications documents as needed.

Working with the Senior Vice President – Investor Relations, this person will also help design, implement and maintain the company’s Investor Relations program, including establishing the mix and frequency of company-sponsored meeting platforms (e.g., large group, small group, conference calls); selecting best opportunities for industry sponsored conferences; and determining proper usage of Senior Management Team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle investor correspondences, including: speaking with retail and institutional investors, sending investor kits, answering routine investor relations questions and assist in responding to investor email inquiries.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, conference call scripts, shareholder letter, and other communications to the external financial community and/or internal management team.
  • Assist in the development of the company’s Analyst/Investor Day, including managing all logistical aspects of the conference.
  • Manage other external relationships such as the NYSE, Nasdaq OMX and other vendor relationships.
  • Coordinating quarterly earnings calls including: gathering information from financial statements, assist with analyzing results and identifying key issues for the business, and assisting in the development of content for press releases, scripts and Q&A’s; supporting various elements of the earnings process, including the development of the quarterly earnings announcement with the Corporate Finance and Accounting departments; coordinating and assembling the quarterly earnings press release and scheduling the quarterly earnings call and webcast.
  • Assist with gathering and summarizing operational and financial performance information that will be incorporated into press releases, presentations, web content and other materials.
  • Manage corporate website content and update other financial websites including Bloomberg, First Call, Factset, Yahoo Finance and other related financial sites.
  • Analyze peer and competitor companies and provide insightful summary reports which will be distributed to Senior Management Team.
  • Coordinating financial conference participation, overseeing all logistics for financial and industry conferences including webcast and one-on-one meeting request as appropriate.
  • Assist in tracking and analyzing industry related financial and market data.
  • Review and summarize analyst reports to ensure an understanding of the company’s business within the bounds of publicly disclosed information.
  • Monitor relevant data including analysts’ consensus and ratings, the company’s institutional ownership, trading trends, market opinions, attitudes and reactions to company news and current and economic business trends.

  • B.S. degree preferred
  • Ability to think independently and work in a group environment
  • Years of Experience – Minimum 5 years business experience / Prefer 2-3 years Investor Relations, or Buy/Sell Side research or capital markets experience
  • Discretion and sound professional judgment
  • Travel Required – 5-10% of time
  • Prior experience with the investment community is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and execute on an agreed upon action plan
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary
  • Familiarity and comfort level with financial statements and reports (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, 10-K’s, 10-Q’s and proxy statements)
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict negotiation skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, analyze, summarize and articulate financial data.
