Job Description:

You’ll be providing general legal advice to all Life & Pensions business areas to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements with specific responsibility for pensions law including;

Job Responsibilities:

  • Keeping up to date with changes in the law and legal impact of regulatory changes with particular emphasis on pensions legislation and where applicable ensure team do likewise
  • Producing legal reporting to line management as required
  • Managing external lawyers and controlling external legal spend
  • Assisting with the negotiating, drafting and reviewing of a wide variety of pension documentation including pension scheme rules, booklets and product terms
  • Managing the legal risks within significant, strategically important corporate programmes/projects and products

Job Requirements:

You’ll have a very good knowledge of the legal, regulatory and statutory requirements relating to pensions. Additionally you’ll be a lawyer with pension law experience gained either in practice or industry. You’ll also have experience of advising senior management of blue chip organisations on the mitigation of legal risks.
