Job Description:

Reporting to the Data & Analytics Manager, the Data Specialist supports the business by creating strategy and activations through data analysis and audience-building. The Specialist guides brands in good data practices to achieve their business goals. Responsibilities also include applying advanced analytical and statistical modeling techniques to build, maintain, and improve our databases, BI reporting, CRM communications, and other strategic initiatives. They will be a key point of contact for brands and other stakeholders and will provide critical contributions to our day-to-day operations, as well as the long-term vision and ambitions of the business.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with end users to ensure the final product meets all expectations and requirements
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Conduct deep data analysis to understand consumer behavior and opportunities for the brand
  • Lead strategic data-related projects from an acquisition and data quality perspective
  • Educate and enable marketing teams to ensure data objectives are achieved
  • Communicate and scale best practices
  • Work with brands to achieve business objectives and build strategies using analytics and data
  • Develop innovative and efficient systems and methods for business analysis, data analysis, data modelling, statistical analysis, and predictive modelling
  • Perform post-campaign and ad-hoc analysis
  • Build new and maintain existing reports on our preferred BI platforms
  • Design experiments, test hypotheses, and build models

Job Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and communication skills in both English and French
  • Manages efficient interactions with both internal and external contributors
  • Experience with CRM software, Salesforce Marketing Cloud is preferred
  • Data visualization platform experience (Tableau, Power BI, Domo)
  • Data warehouse/big data analytics experience (Databricks, etc.)
  • Strong SQL skills (mandatory), knowledge of other programming tools such as Python an asset
  • Strong analytical skills and business sense, intuitive thinking
  • Strong project coordination and management skills
  • High attention to detail and committed to things being done right
  • Desire and ability to find new ways of adding value beyond routine job responsibilities, including but not limited to improving “ways of working” and challenging the status quo
