Job Description:

  • The Front Desk position is a key part of the overall success of the Greensboro Marriott Downtown. Often, this is the first and last person a guest comes in contact with.
  • The Front Desk Supervisor possesses a strong outgoing personality, with an ability to pay close attention to details.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests in a friendly manner and follow check-in procedures
  • Take payments and post accurately to guest accounts
  • Be aware of local attractions and restaurants and make recommendations to guests
  • Handle incoming telephone calls and other guest communication in a discreet fashion
  • Accurately communicate with other shifts regarding issues arising from day to day operations
  • Works in conjunction with manager to deliver discipline/corrective action and make termination decisions.
  • Follows proper selling techniques and ensures strategies are utilized to maximize room revenues.
  • Monitors room availability, follows restrictions, and all booking policies and procedures
  • Follow set policies regarding cash handling
  • Communicate with other departments in a friendly and professional manner
  • Promotes collaboration and a positive, professional work environment.
  • Responsible for assisting ineffective labor management through proper scheduling, monitoring, and adjusting based on business needs.
  • Analyzes quality issues, identifies training needs, suggests changes, and ensures implementation to improve results.
  • Utilizes available resources and adheres to training policies.
  • Motivates staff by setting goals, providing ongoing feedback, and rewarding/recognizing employees.
  • Ensures all required training for department employees is completed and training records are maintained.
  • Other duties as required

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work all shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills and be detailed orientated
  • Qualified candidates must have at least one (1) year of Hotel Front Desk experience
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal essential
