Job Description:

The Director, Property Management Systems (PMS) Sustainment, is part of the Global Operations (GO) department, which is knowns for taking ideas into implementation across all brands, disciplines, and continents and will report to the Vice President, Platform Operations + Experience Activation. As a member of the PMS team, this position will provide back-office sustainment and support for the existing Property Management Systems: LightSpeed, Opera, FSPMS, FOSSE as well as cross platform projects impacting LightSpeed, Opera, FSPMS, FOSSE and future PMS solutions. The position will be accountable for project management and planning of PMS impacts from initiatives, as well as management of the operational support process for LightSpeed, Opera, FSPMS, FOSSE continual service improvement and quality management process. The position will be based at Marriott’s Global Headquarters in Bethesda.

Job Responsibilities:

As a member of the Global Design Systems business support team the System Analyst, Global Design Applications Business Support will contribute to the functional and technical support of the systems used by Global Design (ReMAP, PCDW, Mosaic, MarrTool, Concur, etc.). She/he will:

  • Accountable for leading the Back Office Process and future Payments Strategy
  • Accountable for planning and management of new initiatives with PMS impact, including initiatives that impact all PMSs, aligning resources as needed and meeting critical timelines.
  • Provide governance of the PMS platforms by partnering with iT to track and manage future enhancement requests
  • Manage operational change impacts and communications regarding the PMS
  • Represents the PMS team with Continent IT, Continent Lodging Services (CLS) and Opening + Transitions Teams
  • Partners with PMS Support Helpdesk, monitors SLA’s and KPI’s and continual service improvement and establishing quality management processes
  • Ensures close alignment between a new/existing business case and the end design of a product or service, keeping all key stakeholders informed.
  • Ensures a cost-benefit model is available, for all new/existing business cases, to allow for ease of communication with senior leaders, area operations, owners and franchise community, whenever applicable.
  • Provides operational input (directly or facilitated with other GO PMS team members) into cross-functional designs to ensure operational requirements are met effectively
  • Ensures Change Management/Communications, and Training strategies are in place for initiatives
  • Leads a team of Subject Matter Experts, providing system and operational subject matter expertise relating to business processes, operational processes, interfacing enterprise systems, new property openings, conversions and future acquisitions
  • Develops and documents business processes, operational procedures, policies, and best practices for PMS
  • Leads PMS impact of cross platform initiatives (e.g. Loyalty, Reservations and Brand driven) across all PMS systems.
  • Represents PMS team at initiative meetings and pull through changes by working with iT and/or GO PMS team members.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous leadership experience and managing a team of associates
  • 4-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field appropriate to work of the position; OR related work experience; plus 5 years of hotel experience or other relevant experiences using property management systems.
  • Experience with Property Management Systems and/or operational experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; able to collaborate effectively with others in a cross-functional team
  • Strong analytical skills to ground decision making and problem solving
  • Strong process management, negotiating, influencing, and problem resolution skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working with international teams and supporting global systems and operational processes
  • Experience working with external service providers
  • Solid ability to manage multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to problem-solve and leverage resources to optimize department capabilities
  • Confident ability to present to large and executive level audiences
