Job Description:

The executive chef is responsible for all culinary activities for the restaurant. This position will oversee all activity in the kitchen, train personnel, plan menus, oversee product purchasing and manage the culinary budget.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Executive Chef who will be successful with us will be creative and have a positive attitude. This individual will thrive in a work environment of respect and support.
  • An effective organization of resources, knowledge working with BEOs and banquet functions, as well as a la carte and catering knowledge are required.
  • Experience in purchasing, receiving, and appropriate storage of all products necessary.
  • Taking inventory, managing food costs.
  • Handling scheduling, and working with payroll.
  • Equally important is the training and retaining of associates.

Job Requirements:

  • This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
  • Culinary Degree and/or minimum of 4 years experience in culinary Sous Chef/Supervisory role
  • Experience in the hotel, and/or free-standing restaurant environments preferred
  • Mastery of basic cooking techniques and knife skills necessary
  • Proficient knowledge of Excel, and Word
  • Serve Safe Certified
