Job Description:

Performs complex electromechanical problem diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance of forklifts and conventional and automated material handling equipment at the ASRS building.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Revises assigned schedules as needed for assigned production lines, manufacturing cells, or areas to accommodate changes in execution. Analyzes deviations from production standards and discrepancies in batch yields for assigned production lines, manufacturing cells, or areas. Resolves discrepancies between Mary Kay production records and the schedule. Works with the Operations team members for assigned production lines, manufacturing cells, or areas to expedite production in order to meet increasing or earlier than expected production demands. Elevates any Operations, Quality or customer service issues to Mary Kay management immediately.
  • Adds promotional and new products and packages to regularly scheduled requirements for assigned production lines, manufacturing cells, or areas. Phases out discontinued products and packages to minimize obsolescence costs.
  • Works with Supervisor to establish scheduling strategies, to receive authorization on matters outside of guidelines, and to receive guidance and direction in the scheduling of overtime.
  • Coordinates work order or job initiations to meet established customer service measures for assigned production lines, manufacturing cells, or areas. Working with direct supervision, identifies opportunities to reduce costs by reviewing the run rates, changeover times, etc. and makes sure these values are reflected in Planning systems.
  • Monitors and audits BOMs for their specific SKUs to assure accuracy.
  • Under general supervision reviews master production schedule, low inventory report, critical inventory report, promotional item requirements, desired production levels, equipment, and staffing, to create a master schedule or detailed plan defining the production requirements necessary to meet desired inventory levels. Schedules manufacturing operations to effectively and efficiently meet the requirements and priorities specified during the master scheduling process.
  • Under general supervision communicates directly with Mary Kay Manufacturing Operations team members for assigned production lines, manufacturing cells, or areas to schedule equipment and manpower; Engineering to schedule equipment testing, sanitation schedules, and capacity; Central Weigh to establish batch issue and pre-weigh schedules; Purchasing to define purchasing requirements; Supply Scheduling to verify raw and component availability; Inventory Control to resolve inventory discrepancies; and Quality Control Receiving Inspection for material release priorities. Meets with Operations team members for assigned production lines, manufacturing cells, or areas when they discuss delivery, performance or quality issues.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have good color vision and perception in order to verify color-coded wires, control symbols, and operate machinery.
  • Must be able to manually lift materials and parts weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Must be able to successfully and safety operate overhead hoists, slings, chain and pulley rigging, and proper hooks and links technology.
  • Must be able to work at high elevations and climb storage racks or equipment ladders as needed.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills in order to follow instructions and effectively interface with departmental staff and other Company Departments.
  • Must demonstrate competencies with power and hand tools, multi-meters, dial calipers, micrometers, and other test equipment to perform essential job duties.
  • Ability to walk 70% of the time to coordinate manpower and equipment requirements. Must be able to reach, stoop, kneel, and sit 30% of the time to perform related maintenance work.
  • Must have advanced skills with oxy-acetylene torches, MIG, and metal rod arc welding for minor and moderate repairs.
  • Must demonstrate technical knowledge of high pressure hydraulic systems and control valves, solid state electrical systems, high current power system, and various AC & DC motor controllers.

Qualification & Experience:

  •  High school diploma minimum. Trade School or Associates degree is preferred.
  • 8 years’ experience with industrial maintenance and shop practices; 5 years’ experience in successfully maintaining electrical material handling equipment; must have 6 years’ experience in troubleshooting and repairing modern electric forklifts.
