Job Description:

MBUSA Data Scientist is supporting the development and implementation of predictive analytics to generate unique insights that drive business value. He or she performs data acquisition, data preparation, data cleansing, data modeling, analysis and visualization of large and varied data sources to foster data-driven decision making and business opportunities. The Data Scientist consults with business units across a variety of different functions to identify opportunities as well as implements AI/ML algorithms in an agile working model to realize the impact always embracing the aspect if security and compliance. This role actively increases the degree of automation by using state-of-the-art coding practices and technologies. He or she is a creative thinker and proposes innovative ways that MBUSA can realize value from data and contributes to building out the data science community with Daimler globally by actively participating and sharing knowledge.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure use cases are delivered in time & communicated professionally -Drive development and implementation of the big data use cases
• Support specification of significant business opportunities in different MBUSA business units together with Product Owners
• Understanding complex data and finding data patterns in different sources -Create solid statistical predictive models and innovative visualizations -Guiding the process of algorithm implementation
• Continuously increasing the degree of automation and working in a DevOps manner with goal to achieve robust operations of data products
• Conducting data analysis on large data sets, helping team members with complex algorithms, working together with other data scientists in an agile environment
• Establish strong relationships and communicate with a wide array of colleagues in different locations globally -Integration of all stakeholders in overall processes in order to solve occurring issues as quick as possible -Be able to communicate about highly complex data topics in easy and understandable ways

Job Requirements:

• Familiarity with other programming languages (R, Scala, Java) a plus
• Familiarity with modern software development practices (Git, JIRA, CI/CD methods, MLOps) a plus.
• Agile working methods (e.g. Scrum, SaFe)
• Fluent in English
• Python/SQL essential
• Familiarity with cloud ecosystem (Hive, Spark, Kafka)
• 5+ years of experience in an analytics role or equivalent
• A good understanding of statistical concepts and machine learning approaches
• A good understanding of software engineering principles and ability to leverage them to build reliable, repeatable data science pipelines
• Familiarity with at least 1 data visualization tool
