Job Description:

  • Build close relationship with all support office functions to assist them in delivering approved activity and challenging them where activity is not in the best interests of the customer or the stores. Maintain a fresh approach to retail as their advocate in the centre.
  • Support the Central Ops Manager – Trade, in maintaining integrity of the Retail Activity Plan ensuring that all activity (trade and non-trade) has been approved and a critical path is delivered to enable right first time execution.
  • Provide feedback to and from the stores on execution

Job Responsibilities:

  • Help measure Retail execution of activity to ensure that there is a consistent delivery across all of retail and the brand proposition is maintained
  • Help deliver consistent measurement of activity goals and robust feedback to originators expediting those that generate a return and challenging those that do not
  • Deputise for Central Ops Manager – Trade as required
  • Maintain close working relationships with the RBM’s and the stores and conduct frequent & purposeful visits to assess upcoming and just launched activity. Encourage central support teams to accompany you on visits and highlight ongoing issues and opportunities
  • Use the Retail Activity plan to plot all future activity that results in additional task for stores, include known trade and marketing activity ensuring that realistic plans are constructed for right first time execution
  • Use critical paths to plot incoming activity, planned or reactionary so that good activity can be introduced and poor activity build can be highlighted, corrected or scrapped
  • Work cross-functionally and act as the voice of Retail and ensure a close relationship with the Operations Specialists – Retail to liaise on worthwhile trials and process improvements implemented through the Retail Activity Plan

Job Requirements:

  • High emotional intelligence, able to challenge and accept challenge professionally
  • Experience of supporting project management/delivery to success
  • Passionate about Retail and a strong advocate of being the voice for stores
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to flex and adapt style as required
  • Robust yet flexible skills in challenging others, with strong assertiveness and drive
  • Proven communication and influencing skills
  • Strong IT skills – confident in all Microsoft Office programmes (particularly PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle changing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Strong Retail experience and an understanding of the field support roles
  • Ability to make strong cross functional relationships
  • Use initiative and work as part of a team and independently
  • Focus on business
  • Customer focussed (both internal & external), commercial attitude
