Job Responsibilities:

  • Completes monthly calculation of payroll, allotment and remittance funding to vendors and manning agencies
  • Participates in month-end operations review and provide support to Finance and HR Compensation on issue resolution
  • Participates in payroll-related projects to ensure that all affected accounting, reconciliation, and audit aspects are fully and accurately addressed.
  • Complete scheduled monthly and ad-hoc reporting, and maintain monthly statistical and production reporting of all payments and activities completed by Fleet Payroll
  • Resolves issues and answers questions for external and internal customers, and provides scheduled monthly and ad-hoc reporting requests
  • Responsible for reconciling and journalizing the Mid-month and Month end Fleet Payrolls, including all US and foreign payrolls
  • Complete payroll reconciliations of all Foreign Wire Payments made by Fleet Payroll, and partner directly with Finance in completing general ledger reconciliation of accounts
  • Complete re-class journal entries as a result of general ledger variances and required adjustments from Finance of Fleet Cost Management
  • Upload miscellaneous reclass entries as needed as directed by Finance and Fleet cost management teams.
  • Maintain monthly reconciliations for allotments and remittances paid to the Filipino, Indonesian and Indian manning agencies
  • Completes payroll month-end close related activities, including journal entry preparation and proper review in accordance with departmental timelines with focus on accuracy
  • Reviews, analyzes and prepares payroll reconciliations and supporting documentation with focus on identifying and resolving reconciling items and payment timing issues monthly
  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies, objectives, and applicable government laws and regulations.

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of related experience in an Accounting/ Payroll position. Prior bookkeeping helpful.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP regulations
  • Demonstration of directly related work experience, which has provided an equivalent breadth and depth of knowledge, may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
  • Ability to communicate clearly (verbal and written) with travel agents, employees, other departments, management and customers.
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
  • Knowledge of 10 key by touch
  • Experience with ORACLE and other financial systems
