Job Requirements:

• must not have two voluntary admissions for alcohol or drugs (while in a Class A CDL position)*
• must not have failed to report any of the following while in a Class A CDL position within the previous three years any citation; license suspension, revocation or reinstatement; disqualification from operating a CMV; accident; hours-of-service violation
• must show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work and
• must not have one of the following criminal offenses within the previous seven years hit and run; vehicular assault; or
• fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement ; using the vehicle to commit a felony, other than a felony described above
• must not have any of the following within the previous three years two Class II accident; two chargeable accidents; or any combination of these accidents resulting in a total of two
• must not have an alcohol result of .02 to .039 (when driving any vehicle for Publix business) within the previous three years *
• must not have two moving violations/citations (excluding any violations specifically covered in this posting) within the
• previous three years
• must not have failed to report any of the following while in a Class A CDL position DUI, DWI, operating under the
• influence or while intoxicated (according to state law); refusal to submit to testing (drug or alcohol); out-of-service order violation for a CMV (issued by Publix or law enforcement)*
• must not have a second occurrence or combination of a major traffic offence and out-of-service order violation
• must have a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) evaluation before the start date in the position if a voluntary
• admission for alcohol or drugs was made while in a non-Class A CDL position within the previous three years
• must show commitment to Publix’s mission.
• must not have one of any of the following serious traffic violations within the previous seven years driving recklessly as defined by state or local law or regulation (includes but is not limited to driving in willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property); or negligent driving
• must not have any of the following within the previous 2 years while working dock/trailer safety violation; Lock-
• Out/Tag-Out violation; equipment modification violation; or violation for bypassing safety devices
• must not have two hours-of-service violations within the previous six-months or three hours-of-service violations within the previous three years
• must have the ability to work well with others and be a team member
• must not have one railroad-highway grade crossing violation within the previous three years (when driving a CMV)
• must not have one of the following involuntary admission for alcohol or drugs; unacceptable drug result on a Publix or company-sponsored drug test (while in a Class A CDL position)*
• must not have one prohibited item violation for alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs found in a CMV within the previous three years
• For previous violations related to drug or alcohol issues, the individual must have seen a Substance Abuse
• Professional (SAP), completed drug and alcohol education classes and any treatment recommended by the SAP, obtained a certificate of completion and submitted to and passed all follow-up testing.
• must not have one out-of-service order violation within the previous three years (when driving a CMV)

Qualification & Experience:

• be able to read and interpret technical manuals
• Spatial Reasoning
• be able to obtain an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Medium/Heavy Truck Certification
• be able to supply and maintain hand tools to accomplish daily duties
• be able to interpret, understand, and follow instructions
• be able to read, write and solve math problems
• be at least 21 years old
• be able to lift a minimum of 65 pounds
• not have an unacceptable drug test result on a Publix or company-sponsored drug test within the previous three years
  Mechanical Reasoning
• be able to work nights
• successfully complete the following tests (before his or her start date in the position)
• Following Written Instructions
• be capable of generating and processing work on a computerized maintenance management system
• be able to work independently with little or no supervision
• must have a valid drivers license and authorization to drive a company vehicle before the start date in the position
• be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time
• must not have one of the following major traffic offenses within the previous seven years being under the influence of alcohol as prescribed by state law; being under the influence of a controlled substance; transportation, possession or unlawful use of a controlled substance while using a CMV; having an alcohol concentration between 0.04 and the level defined by state law as being under the influence of alcohol when driving a CMV or any vehicle for Publix business);
• refusing to take an alcohol or drug test as required by a state or jurisdiction under its implied consent laws or regulations or Publix; leaving the scene of an accident; driving a CMV when, as a result of prior violations committed
• operating a CMV, the driver’s CLP or CDL is revoked, suspended, or canceled, or the driver is disqualified from
• operating a CMV
• Basic Office Skills
