Job Description:
Senior Director is responsible for building a team of data scientists to develop analytical approaches to support data-driven decision making. They will direct the development and evolution of our Forecasting and Planning models, logic methods, and associated dashboards. They will design and build models leveraging statistical methods and advanced analytic techniques that will help drive new insights, process improvements, and innovation. They will be required to quickly become knowledgeable on existing business processes and models in order to identify gaps and areas of opportunity. They will be responsible for project management, data analysis and the presentation of recommendations. They will work closely with cross functional partners to drive the best decisions and implement solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Leverage retail industry knowledge, real-time analytics and dashboards to monitor Planning processes and automated logic to identify improvement opportunities
- Partner and collaborate with business partners to drive common goals.
- Translate business challenges into analytical questions, generate root cause hypotheses and frame analyses to identify solutions
- Drive innovations to improve the ability to respond to changes in product / location specific demand
- Drive quality of analysis, including assessing analyst’s competency level
- Develop a deep understanding of the Forecasting and Planning process and lead continuous improvement projects for these areas

- Adapt and respond timely to business changes. Determine the impact to Planning and Forecasting processes and develop recommendations for adapting the automated logic
- Deliver analytic solutions to enable insight generation and conduct ad-hoc analytic projects that will improve sales plan accuracy and drive profitability
Job Requirements:
- You have experimental test design experience preferred
- You have 10+ years of experience working in analytics / data science
- Your specialties are in demand modeling, time-series analysis and forecasting preferred
- You have experience leveraging sophisticated analytics and insights to provide thought-partnership and provide meaningful, actionable, data-driven recommendations in alignment with business strategy
- You have expertise developing advanced analytics methods: forecasting algorithms, modeling, predictive statistical methods and machine learning
- You have 5+ years working retail demand forecasting and planning experience preferred
- You have a Bachelor’s Degree required; in statistics, analytics, economics, data science or comparable field preferred
- You have experience designing / implementing forecasting software
- You partner with analytic team to synthesize insights from quantitative and qualitative data to provide expert guidance
- You have extensive experience developing frameworks for complex analytics projects
- You are proficient with statistical software (R, tableau, Power BI)
