Job Description:

This position will assist the Sr. Manager of Onboard Sales with scheduling, booking amendments, AS400 training and development for the onboard staff, sales coaching, marketing, staff development, performance reviews and small projects that develop over time. Position will also support some onboard revenue needs, onboard sales/marketing departments for sales analysis, marketing campaign implementation, revenue generation, shipboard/shore side communication and other duties as required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for training of the new onboard sales team on AS400, Siebel, Encore, Fidelio, and all computer systems new recruits are required to know before joining their ships. Additionally responsible for orchestrating the training operation which includes but not limited to training facility, training dates, crew travel, Miami hotel and transportation, food, travel documents and communication with the ships of their arrival and any correspondence relating to this event.
  • Assists to administer daily operations shore side for onboard sales programs on Royal Caribbean vessels including staffing, crew scheduling, rotation coverage, training, performance coaching and development, auditing, uniform and brand standards, berthing, marketing and revenue strategies and implementation, collateral, general support of Cruise Sales Managers, Assistant Managers & Associates.
  • Represents the corporation at association functions, cruise industry events, travel industry conventions and other meetings as required.
  • Responsible for onboard sales recruitment which requires a close relationship with shipboard HR and constant communication with the ship Senior Leadership. Provides the necessary tools to perform shipboard interviews and responds in a timely manner the outcome of each recruit.
  • Travels to vessels to oversee departmental operations and to perform brand quality and marketing audits, trainings, rotation coverage (approximately 10% – 30% travel). May be covering rotations for extended periods of time.
  • Strives for continuous improvement in operations and sales generation to maximize % of guests to book their next cruise onboard.
  • Represents Onboard Sales in managing aspects of shipboard sales in areas of financial analysis, negotiation, marketing, advertising, operations planning and reporting, training, and quality assurance.
  • Directly interacts with senior level shipboard management in onboard cruise sales operations via conference calls on in person, with the Hotel Director, M&R Manager, IT/Systems Manager, other Revenue Managers. Direct contact with shipboard management team regarding operational needs/enhancements.
  • Works with Hotel Operations, Onboard Revenue, Loyalty Marketing, Human Resources, Sales Finance & Analysts, and other shore side departments as necessary to represent Onboard Sales.
  • Assists in continued improvement of training programs and administering training modules as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Software: Working knowledge of computers, internet access and the ability to navigate within a variety of software packages such as AS400, Micro-Soft Office Tools, iPad, and application usage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or related field, preferred
  • 4 – 6 years experience in related operations, sales, training, customer service, hospitality management, coaching and developing, global team management and/or analysis work required
  • Ability to develop tactical plans utilizing project management principles. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Shipboard experience or ship operational experience preferred
