Job Description:
Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., a leader in the Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality industry, is a fast-growing multinational cruise operator. The company is seeking an entry-level Financial Analyst in the corporate Capital Planning department. The department controls and guides decision making for all of the Company’s capital expenditures. Aligned with the Company’s strategic planning process, the department provides a long-range plan for the capital asset portfolio as well as provides the tools necessary for business leaders to make investment decisions. The position supports the Capital Planning team through the capital process, from submission through approving, executing, and monitoring investments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage Accounting Review of CAR submissions, following-up with various stakeholders as needed.
- Coordinate bi-weekly Capital Committee meetings and work closely with Corporate Officers to provide analysis, reporting and recommendations of both current and future Capital projects to Executive Management and the Board of Directors.
- Track and obtain necessary approvals based on CAR spend thresholds, including interacting with the Company Officers and Executive Committee members.
- Review new, existing, and historical investments to guide decision-making using financial modeling and scenario analysis.
- Support the administration of the Company’s Capital Appropriation Request website, eCAR+. This includes the supervision of the electronic approval process, as well as the opening, closing and amending of all projects and providing technical support to all users of the application.
- Track key milestones and reporting for Capital projects in collaboration with project managers.
- Execute processes to allow for routine analytical review of Capital spend and performance in order to provide recommendations to Management and monitor monthly capital expenditure results through detailed variance analyses.
- Aid in managing the company’s five-year Capital Expenditure forecast and strategy inclusive of Newbuilds, Revitalizations and Capital projects to be used both internally and externally to investors.
- Ensure all formal Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) documentation is submitted in accordance with deadlines and the Company’s CAR policy.
Job Requirements:
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced use and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word applications.
- Experience with Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Brio, JD Edwards World or other database management system a plus.
- Internship or maximum 1-2 years of work experience required in Finance and/or Strategy functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or similar with applicable coursework in Corporate Finance, Strategy, Accounting, and Statistics.
- Ability to work well under pressure and problem solve with groups.
