Job Description:
The Delivery Helper will support San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance’s mission of saving species worldwide by performing varied warehouse duties in the filling of orders and delivery of supplies in the Food Service Department. This position is a seasonal full-time opportunity from June 1st through September 10th and will report to Warehouse Lead or Food Service Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities:
- Keeps warehouse areas and shelves in clean and orderly condition
- Keeps records of supplies delivered
- Assists in setting-up and stocking food stands
- Operates trucks and forklifts
- Adheres to all SDZWA and department policies and practices
- Loads supplies on truck or cart
- Delivers food stuff and supplies to food stands within the Zoo or Safari Park
- Obtains stock from food stands for storage in warehouse
Job Requirements:
- Make simple arithmetic calculations
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Current valid California driver’s license in good standing
- Organization’s Safe driving practices & safety policy
- Operate motor vehicle safely
- Storage and handling of food service supplies and materials
- Work effectively with others in a diverse environment
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old. A valid California driver license and a good driving record is required. Good reading, writing, organizational, and communication skills are necessary. Applicants must be able to follow instructions and prioritize work. Experience with pallet jacks and a dolly is highly desirable. Food
- Service knowledge would be ideal.
- Learn to operate a forklift
- At least three months of previous experience working in a warehouse
- Keep simple records
