Job Responsibilities:

  • Implements, monitors and continuously improves an integrated program which assures quality, product safety and regulatory compliance standards are met for food, beverage, merchandise and supply items manufactured, distributed and sold by Starbucks, as well as the systems and practices within the store environment.
  • Leads investigation and resolution of food safety, service provider and/or regulatory incidents from regulators, retail stores, or internal and external customers. Determines and recommends appropriate mitigation activities.
  • Conducts and documents reviews of new or changing products, equipment, fixtures, store designs or operating procedures that impact our retail stores.
  • Understands and utilizes appropriate regulations and industry standards.
  • Developing strategic and operational plans for the supporting region/work group and measuring results.
  • Provides functional expertise and collaborates with key stakeholders and support teams throughout the organization to achieve and optimize business performance.
  • Analyzes quality metrics, audit data, customer feedback, regulator and workgroup input. Highlights trends and potential opportunities and provides continuous improvement recommendations to department leadership.
  • Delivers effective communications to provide partners at all levels with appropriate awareness and knowledge of quality assurance standards, requirements, program updates and process changes.

Job Requirements:

  • BS in science-related field preferred
  • Retail Foodservice Operations (5 years)
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring food safety training programs, standards and compliance (5 years)
  • Current knowledge of FDA, USDA and CFIA guidelines and regulations
  • Assessing safety and regulatory compliance of food, handling practices, and the sanitary deign of food equipment and facilities (5 years)
  • Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS/RS) or Certified Professional – Food Safety (CP-FS) preferred.
  • Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS/RS) or Certified Professional – Food Safety (CP-FS) preferred (5 years)
  • Progressive experience within a quality assurance department (5 years)
