Job Description:
The Vice President of Delivery and Consulting provides senior leadership and oversight over all of our project execution, our PMO and internal consulting (Business Systems Analysts) function that supports the entire technology organization globally. This pillar leader is responsible for the successful partnership, scoping, and leadership over all systems implementations, SDLC, PMO Processes, planning, estimating and overall adoption of standardize SDLC and project execution processes. Accountable for the effective leadership and implementation of key Technology processes including intake, scoping and estimating, scheduling, resourcing, planning, management and reporting of Technology Projects and services. The VP of Delivery and Consulting will lead the implementation and adoption of standard practices and systems to ensure on-time and on-budget project success across the enterprise and his or her team will actively manage the execution of all technology focused efforts (Tech for Tech).
Job Responsibilities:
- Establishes performance metrics and reporting, creating actionable management reports that inform Leadership on project performance. Evaluates data and trends and shares insights and actions with Leadership
- Leads the identification and implementation of project management processes, methods, tools, guidelines and standards in order to establish a stable framework that supports all project teams and stakeholders to improve the probability of successful project delivery
- Understands, supports, and contributes to the business vision and strategic imperatives. Brings technology requirements and constraints into the business planning process to ensure alignment. Guides Function Leaders in the formulation of practical technology strategies and tactics. Watches for material changes in business objectives and makes necessary adjustments in technology plans. Has a leadership role in innovating and leading change. Anticipates how business changes translate into the need for technology. Suggests and advocates changes in business processes and policies
- Works closely with the technology leadership to help foster positive and collaborative cross-functional efforts to manage, improve, and upgrade our technology tools and technologies. This leader serves as an advocate for solid and transparent lines of continuous communication, the discipline of strong project management practices, prudent resource management, and effective delivery of technology improvements. Helps the technology leaders understand what is feasible to spend on technology for technology efforts. Using knowledge of technology products, services, and fulfillment processes, helps identify, define, and shape the service portfolio and develop service levels. Helps technology delivery managers and product managers formulate new services
- Drives the budget and technology project portfolio planning, business case preparation and execution for their designated business area. Is part of the overall technology governance processes and assisting in the development and evolution of the overall enterprise technology approach and select sourcing decisions
- Leads and manages a transparent communications process ensuring all relevant stakeholders are provided with current information as to the status, challenges, blockers and accomplishments of Technology projects, presenting information in an actionable and timely manner
- Defines, manages and directs end-to-end PMO work effort, which includes leveraging best practices and techniques in identifying, quantifying and tracking the realization of expected benefits defined in business cases. Provides ongoing coaching and mentoring to PMO staff and project managers. Builds and maintains relationships with senior leadership and key PMO stakeholders, and acts as a trusted advisor, Regularly reviews and evaluates opportunities to improve the project management best practices in order to achieve higher maturity in PPM
- Fosters an atmosphere of collaboration and continuous improvement. Supports business leaders in developing Technology related business cases and ROI estimates while closely collaborating to ensure project deliverables, level of effort and associated timing is accurately estimated. Works with business Stakeholders and Technology Leadership to understand business priorities, sequencing of deliverables and budget parameters. Escalates and works to resolve blockers
Job Requirements:
- Financial acumen, cost management, executive influence and leadership experience are required. Candidate must have excellent communication skills
- Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years in technology management and leadership experience is required, as well as project management leadership and a history of delivering results. Successful candidate must have broad knowledge of information systems and/or digital technology with in-depth knowledge of technology service delivery and experience with business process design and optimization.
- MBA is strongly preferred
- Experiencing leading and implementing a PMO is highly desired
- PMO/PMI certification strongly desired
