Toyota Human Resources is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Labor Relations Senior Analyst with primary support to our Newark, NJ port and Baltimore warehouse operations.

The primary responsibility of this role is to exceed customer expectations and sustain our success through the Toyota Way principles of Continuous Improvement and Respect for People. The position supports local facilities covered by collective bargaining agreements and may also support regional facilities and projects as well.

Reporting to Human Resources Business Advisor, the person in this role will support the Logistics Services department’s objective by overseeing daily human resources activities related to team members and labor relations. The successful applicant will support multi-shift and occasional weekend operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate all Company and union processes and communications (Joint Labor committee, grievance process, business updates, etc.). Develop and facilitate training for managers and supervisors on various HR and company topics.
  • Partner with internal HR stakeholders to report/analyze compensation and benefit trends, while tracking and reporting out key activities, morale, and engagement to local business, division, and HR leaders.
  • Participate in labor negotiations for unionized facilities – strategic planning, company proposal development, and response, contribute “at the table” in collective bargaining
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis of various contractual economic and non-economic proposals to include labor cost modeling, workforce analytics planning, and future modeling of workforce analysis to support labor contract proposals and agreements for business groups and enterprises.
  • HR strategy development and implementation for assigned port and warehouse operations, supporting multi-shift and weekend operations. Provide labor expertise and guidance for strategic business decisions including legal risks
  • Advise management on labor issues including contract interpretation, grievance resolution, arbitration (with outside counsel), and other union relations communications and contract administration

Job Requirements:

  • Project management experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Proven negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Recent & relevant Labor Relations experience including grievance processing, negotiations, and arbitrations.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience that is relevant to this position.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly changing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
