Valero Jobs Corpus Christi 2022 – PLC Systems Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

• Supports PLC network devices including switches, fiber and firewalls.
• Supports the design and installation of new electrical/instrumentation equipment and PLC control systems.
• Specifies, programs, diagnoses, repairs, and tunes Programmable Logic Controllers.
• Performs Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming, troubleshooting, and repair. Supports critical instrument reliability.
• Supports PLC HMI workstations and Wonderware displays.
• Supports Lifecycle planning and execution for PLC’s and PLC networks.
• Ensures the Cyber security of PLC’s and PLC network.
• Executes QA/QC on new PLC hardware and software and works with appropriate vendors to improve functionality and maintenance.
• Uses SAP and works with maintenance department to ensure preventive and unplanned maintenance on PLC’s and critical instruments is on schedule and meets standards.
• Creates and maintains monitoring reports for PLC and critical instrument systems.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5 years of operations, PLC/HMI programming, and/or maintenance of field instrumentation required.
• PLC hardware and software experience required.
• Computer and network hardware experience required.
• Refinery production or maintenance experience preferred.
• Triconex hardware and software programming experience preferred.
• Wonderware programming experience preferred.
• SAP experience preferred.
