Job Description:
This position is a local EV development expert that will review current designs for the electric vehicles for the USA market to ensure market requirements are met. The responsibilities include the tracking of development status with lead engineers in Germany and taking responsibility to identify and propose changes as necessary to meet our demands.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain technical review of all current and future competitor products within our market to ensure our products and requested changes align with the requirements of the vehicles in our local market
- Ensure deep technical understanding of current products planned for North American Region
- Perform deep level technical analysis of components and vehicle design to ensure market requirement
- Initiate change request process
- Understand the technical detail of the electric vehicle relevant homologation requirement and testing in the NAR
- Align identified gaps with project partners within the market
- Identify potential gaps to ensure market requirements are included for products delivered to and built within the Region
Job Requirements:
- Computer savvy – skilled in the use of software
- Analytical and conceptual thinking – using logic and reason, creative and strategic
- Communication skills – interpersonal, presentation and written
- Resource management
- Influencing and negotiation skills
- German skills written and verbal are advantageous
- Integration – joining people, processes or systems
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience with EV component supply
- Technical understanding of current and future electrical vehicle design
- 3+ years of experience with electrical vehicle system development
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering – desired
- Vehicle controller development and testing experience
- Development experience with electrical vehicle batteries and electrical architectures
- Knowledge of automotive battery suppliers
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering – required
