Job Description:

The Assistant Product Line Merchandiser is a critical position to the operation of the licensing department. Responsible for assisting in the licensed brand process, work cross departmentally with design, production, international buying, and our wholesale/direct to consumer channel. Ability to communicate strongly with diverse groups of internal and external partners.

Job Responsibilities:

• Sample coordination for brand partners, direct to consumer, and Zumiez.com
• Ability to understand and articulate trends and designs through the lens of each brand while maintaining the integrity of each brand
• Assist in arranging travel for artists and brand personalities
• Assist in managing small brands and processes with oversight
• Accurate sku and PO creation for Licensing projects
• Tracking of samples and PO’s to ensure a timely delivery
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly sales reporting
• Assist in communication between licensed brands, buyers and production

Job Requirements:

• Basic understanding of design process, production timelines, tech packs and product lifecycle
• Ability and willingness to work hard in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to think critically and solve problems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to express creativity and innovative ideas
• Entrepreneurial spirit
• Proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Office and internal buying systems
• High attention to detail
• 1 to 3 years of retail, buying or line planning experience
• Bachelors degree preferred or combination of equivalent education and work experience
• Understanding and application of “retail math” and business analysis
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Maintains an awareness and understanding of the Zumiez culture, customer, market and industry trend. Ability to apply cultural ques across brand, personality and industry connections.
