Job Description: The Front Desk position is a key part of the overall success of the Greensboro Marriott Downtown. Often, this is the first and last person a guest comes in contact with. The Front Desk Supervisor possesses a strong outgoing personality, with an ability to pay close attention to details. The successful candidate should be able to work well with others while demonstrating an ability to run a shift. Job Responsibilities: Greet guests in a friendly manner and follow check-in procedures Take payments and post accurately to guest accounts Be aware of local attractions and restaurants and make recommendations to guests Handle incoming telephone calls and other guest communication in a discreet fashion Accurately communicate with other shifts regarding issues arising from day to day operations Works in conjunction with manager to deliver discipline/corrective action and make termination decisions. Follows proper selling techniques and ensures strategies are utilized to maximize room revenues. Monitors room availability, follows restrictions, and all booking policies and procedures Follow set policies regarding cash handling Communicate with other departments in a friendly and professional manner Promotes collaboration and a positive, professional work environment. Responsible for assisting ineffective labor management through proper scheduling, monitoring, and adjusting based on business needs. Analyzes quality issues, identifies training needs, suggests changes, and ensures implementation to improve results. Utilizes available resources and adheres to training policies. Motivates staff by setting goals, providing ongoing feedback, and rewarding/recognizing employees. Ensures all required training for department employees is completed and training records are maintained.
