Job Description: Under indirect supervision, performs technical optical laboratory work of the highest level, requiring the skilled used of precision & hand operated equipment. Positions at this level include: Surface Layout Worker, Finish Layout Worker, Special Jobs Worker, Mounter, Inspector Spotter, & Final Inspector. Job Responsibilities: Inspect lenses & eye glasses to verify correct processing of prescription Arrange for repair of equipment Case hardens lenses Equipment & Instruments: Prepare rimless frames in hot air or hot salt & cold water to soften or harden them Fit finished lenses in the frames Replace expendable parts on equipment Mount & inspect lenses in frames Calibrate & adjust equipment in preparation for & during procedures Spot lenses for bench layout Grind lenses specified curvature & thickness Logout lenses for surfacing & edging Locate & marks centers, axes, & terminal points Make minor repairs & adjustments to eyeglasses/ frames Laboratories: Grind & polish lenses by hand which cannot be prepared by machine Job Requirements: Must have three (3) years of surface & bench room experience Must have knowledge of stockroom Must be able to calculate the surface & demonstrate bench room lens processing, including slab off, prism, & machine setting Must be able to completely process jobs through the lab, & final inspection Job Details: Company: Kaiser Permanente Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Los Angeles, CA, US Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here vacancyoptions.com
