Job Description:

As a Barclays Client Service Advisor, you will be the single point of contact for incoming telephone enquiries from clients, non-clients, coverage teams and other financial institutions. You will be providing a world class client experience by exceeding expectations in the manner in which the call is handled. You will be offering extensive knowledge of Trade products and services, whilst also protecting the Banks position by being aware of risks associated with Trade Products.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership of issues using knowledge and experience to identify appropriate solutions for the client, giving guidance balancing the bank’s position with regard to risk.
  • Dealing with complaints from clients in line with FCA guidelines in a timely manner, whilst articulately challenge & empathise in order to handle objections & resistance
  • Organising own workflow ensuring that high volumes of various types of telephone enquiries managed to achieve individual and team targets
  • Responding to client and coverage queries received by both phone and email, resolving the query to the client’s satisfaction
  • Identifying any possible risk and potential loss situation, escalating in a timely manner
  • You will be the first and single point of contact for resolving highly technical and often contentious telephone enquiries
  • Logging complaints
  • Escalating complex and unresolved enquiries as appropriate

Job Requirements:

  • Problem solving and analytical thought process, with proven interpersonal skills – written and spoken
  • Ability to be flexible to support the team leader and other process experts
  • Excellent understanding of business processes and operational procedures
  • External trade Professional Qualifications e.g. CITA/CIFA, or willing to undertake within 1 year of being in the role
  • Knowledge OF Trade product suite – Trade Loans, Collections, Letters of Credit & BGIs
  • Previous experience of working in a customer-servicing environment is desirable
  • Knowledge of Trade systems
