Job Description:
As a Barclays Credit TCU Trading Assistant, you have the opportunity to provide front line support of Credit Trading activities performed by the desk while working with Credit Trading across all offices in the Americas. This is an exciting chance to cover Credit Derivatives, Corporate Bonds, Municipal Derivatives, and the instruments used to hedge those businesses. Your work to maintain a high degree of accuracy around trade capture is crucial to the firm’s risk management and accurate books and records.
Job Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting trade booking application issues with IT support, development team, and counterparts in other asset classes including Rates, FX, and Equities
- Being responsible for exception and query management and reporting to management on requests received and completed
- Adhering to a ‘right first time’ policy on Trade Capture activity and liaising with internal teams to understand requests for entries required to ensure accurate capture
- Ensuring initial trade capture and close and responsive coverage of traders (includes but is not limited to trade booking issues, PNL queries, risk monitoring, trade fails)
- Inputting real-time exceptions related to regulations into Trade Capture Systems (e.g. Dodd-Frank mandatory clearing)
- Working on position changes (backloading, assignments/novations, terminations (full & partial))
- Working on credit events / succession events (product dependent but includes and is not limited to reference obligation changes, credit events, restructuring)
- You will be corporate actions processing (includes maturities, calls, debt exchanges, debt to equity) and portfolio optimization – bilateral portfolio compressions
Job Requirements:
- Existing knowledge of vendor platforms (IceLink, Markitwire, Bloomberg, etc.) preferred but not required
- Excellent team player who responds well to high intensity and pressure environments
- Diligent, hardworking, demonstrating accuracy at all times, and confident and personable with the ability to develop strong working relationships with the Front Office
- Fast learner with the ability to use their initiative and apply the knowledge to new situations
- Working knowledge of excel with pivot tables and vlookups and attitude to learn further for projects
- Previous experience with Credit Products preferred but not required
