Job Description:
Cloud Application Security Engineer is responsible for the security of applications and infrastructure in the cloud. Helps to ensure that software and services are designed and implemented to the highest security standards. Works closely with other cloud engineers to enhance the overall security posture. Provides security guidance to engineering teams and sets design and coding standards to ensure secure applications are deployed into production.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead deployment of appropriate cloud security controls to align to security policies in AWS environment. Perform cloud-application security audits, risk analysis, threat simulations to detect possible risks, penetration testing, including code & design reviews for security compliance
- Assess, deploy and maintain specific tools to automate and integrate application security testing and compliance requirements. Support, Improve and maintain secure development standards and application security framework projects Research and discover security bugs that can affect our code or products at scale
- Train and support developers, analysts, testers and other personnel engaged in product delivery to the appropriate level of software security knowledge to perform their responsibilities. Support Vendor Management activities to ensure 3rd party software and development meet security standards. Be an advocate and resource for secure software development and application security practices
- Securing all cloud-based applications, services and related infrastructure in the cloud through analyzing existing cloud structures, creating new and enhanced security methods. Investigate, create, and recommend innovative technologies, tools or other methods that will enhance the security of cloud-based environments at large and application development in specific
- Verify that software and services are designed and implemented to the highest security standards, work closely with DevSecOps teams to enhance the overall security posture. Produce metrics reporting the state of application security programs and performance of development teams against requirements
Job Requirements:
- Experience with enterprise monitoring and logging solutions such as AppDynamics and Splunk
- Experience working with complex network topologies
- 8-10 years of experience in Software and/or Infrastructure with hands-on coding experience, with a desired 3+ years in a relevant cloud development, automation, and orchestration
- Experience working in a cloud/IaaS environment – AWS is strongly preferred
- Must have a solid understanding of cloud systems — not only how they operate, but how to deploy them securely, efficiently, and with little-to-no downtime
- MS or BS degree in computer science or related focus, or equivalent experience
- Strong code/scripting skills in Golang, Python, Ruby, Java, Perl, bash
- Experience with Configuration Management tools such as Ansible
- Experience working with virtualization software such as VMWare and Openstack
