Job Description:

Partners with stakeholders, business analysts, systems analysts and team members to understand business requirements and correlate potential technology solutions that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization’s architectural standards. Involved in the full systems life cycle and may be responsible for all or part of designing, developing, testing, implementing and supporting applications software that is delivered on time, within approved budget and in line with business objectives. Makes recommendations towards the development of new software or reuse of existing software. Assists/participates in component and data architecture design, performance engineering, product evaluation and buy vs. build recommendations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear direction, coaching, and support to staff.
  • Understand user issues, identify and drive to resolution, communicate continuously and clearly.
  • Provide both order-of-magnitude and detailed estimates for software development activities and artifacts. Develop and refine estimating models based on previous project actuals and trends to improve accuracy of estimates.
  • Follows good documentation practices including producing and managing formal artifacts as well as writing clean, readable, and standards-compliant code and unit tests.
  • Break down business requirements into activities and artifacts that when realized, produce software that meets the business requirements.
  • Develops code artifacts – modules, classes, methods, scripts, etc. –along with corresponding unit test artifacts.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs
  • CICD background with past automation experience on application deployment and testing using DEVOPS tools
  • Experience as team lead or member on project teams in a cross functional environment
  • Skilled in coaching more junior technical staff
  • BCBS or health insurance industry background desired
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or equivalent work experience in similar work environment
  • Experience integrating the components of the following: AWS – RDS, No SQL databases
  • Strong team oriented interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience aws micro services, aws lamda development experience & experience with apache gateway
