Job Description:

The HR & EDI Advisor will be a critical member of the English and Exams (E&E) global HR team, providing expert advice, administrative and project support across the HR team. The focus of the role will be in two areas; to support the HR partnering team by providing first line HR advice, managing HR administration and activity related to development and delivery of global E&E workforce and people plans and HR projects. The second area of focus is to work with the Senior EDI Programme Manager on the delivery of the English and Exams EDI Action Plan and Anti Racism Action Plan Workstream. This role requires tenacity along with strong planning and organising skills and a generalist administrative skillset. The post holder will work with colleagues across the E&E HR team, as well as with regional HR teams and with colleagues involved in EDI activity across E&E.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the E&E EDI intranet site and contribute to EDI communications
  • Recognise and understand the impact of incidents arising (e.g. complaints, resourcing problems, logistical or technical difficulties) and proactively alert the HR Business Partners team to any issues of concern that are likely to impact service delivery or colleague experience
  • Carry out all HR administration relevant to change and restructuring activity
  • Analyse HR data to contribute to EDI reporting and research and use the EDI Data Dashboard to report on progress against EDI KPIs to the HR team.
  • Support delivery of the E&E anti racism research project to understand barriers to progression
  • Create and manage the administrative process to enable the collation of data for workforce planning
  • Provide day to day advice to Line Managers and Employees on general HR related queries and requests
  • Support delivery of commitments to the Anti Racism Action Plan
  • Support the delivery of the E&E contribution to the Diversity Assessment Framework, the British Council’s annual report on EDI

Job Requirements:

  • A completer finisher with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Experience of drafting business letters containing HR content
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong Customer Relationship Management
  • Self motivated.
  • Experience working in a project support capacity
  • Experience of working in HR using Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point)
